One of the best Indian meals we have ever had. Any of the meat we have had has been melt to the touch tender. Breads are fluffy and delicious. All meals are plentiful and generous, never skimping on more expensive ingredients. Fragrant rice.
We have never eaten in, so I can’t comment on service on house.
We came here from the cinemas for a late night feed. Camberwell Curry House is a mixture of Indian and Nepalese cuisine however leans more towards Indian. I had a mango lassi to start off with which was thick and had a hint of fragrant spice mixed in. Not surprisingly it does fill you up a bit so don't get it if you want more of the other good stuff.
We start off with a mixed meat platter straight from the tandoor which included chicken, lamb chop and kebab. Everything was tasty and succulent, the spices (we requested mild for everything) were subdued and the bed of onions frying on the bottom made a great pairing with the meat.
We also had curries accompanied with saffron rice and garlic naan, all of which were heaped. Firstly the naan was garlicky, toasty at the base and had a good chew. The butter chicken was rich and sweet whereas the palak paneer was creamy with nice chunks of milky paneer. We also shared their Everest pepper lamb which was some pulled lamb with various vegetable chunks, some pieces were a bit dry and would have benefited more with a higher heat level (we chose mild).
Overall a good feed, affordable, generous portions and tasty food. Their version of mild is pretty mild so I'd go medium if you want a bit of a kick.
Friendly staff, food well presented and tasted well. I loved the Kadai curry and Grilled mushrooms as part of the platter. Will visit again.
